In October we had an exhibition of Margaret Hughes’ Celtic quilt, a crochet bedcover /throw designed to replicate the designs in illuminated manuscripts or carved in stone. Margaret adapted some existing crochet stitches and invented others. Some are simple, others more complex, but all are within the scope of a fairly experienced worker. Patterns for all the squares are available. Cushions are also available for some of the designs. There are kits for the cushions and the quilt itself in single and double bed sizes. These are made up to order.
Margaret regularly teaches crochet at The Black Sheep. Course dates for 2016 will be published shortly.
The quilt will be displayed on our stand at Wonderwool 2016 and Margaret will be there during the Saturday afternoon to answer questions about it and her crochet workshops.
